A programme of German Lieder, English Song, Operatic arias and lighter items from the musicals.
Nazan Fikret was born in the UK to Turkish and Irish parents. She studied at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama under Penelope Mackay and later Yvonne Kenny. Nazan is a 2015 Making Music AYCA Winner, Concordia Foundation Artist, a Britten Pears Young Artist and a recipient of an International Opera Awards Bursary.
Highlights in recent seasons include Fiordiligi Così fan tutte for the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra / European Opera Centre, Karolka Jenůfa for Longborough Festival Opera and How the Whale Became by Julian Philips at the Royal Opera House Linbury Theatre. Additionally, Nazan has covered the Queen of the Night The Magic Flute, Wendy Peter Pan by Richard Ayres, and Angelika Figaro Gets a Divorce by Elena Langer, all for Welsh National Opera.
